Original green cloth binding with bevelled boards and gilt decorations on front board and spine. 7 1/4" x 4 3/4". Brown coated endpapers and red colored edges. Half title, blank page, 12 pp of undated ads on orange paper, title page, copy right page, 309 pp. Inscription on front flyleaf reads: "Henry Applegate, Jr & Fred M Stocking". Francis, a former secretary of the Bank of England, prepared this book for the layperson. It makes for an interesting and easy read about a wide variety of subjects surrounding insurance.Tanning to title page and blank page preceding ads due to offsetting from orange paper. Very light shelf wear. A very nice copy.
