Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Brown cloth over boards, gilt-stamping on spine, 1175 pages. Corners and spine ends bumped and lightly worn, staining on text block edges, binding shaken, some foxing scattered throughout, printed label which reads: "Compliments of Charles Hughes, Senator, 12th District. 1878. 1879." pasted to publisher's information on title page.
