This is a 17-Volume collection of works of Historical Fiction by Luise Mühlbach, a well-known German Author, who wrote most of her work in the 1860s and early 1870s. Her Books focus on several well-known German and European personalities including Frederick the Great, Joseph the Second, Empress Josephine, Goethe and Schiller, Napoleon, Marie Antoinette, King Henry and others. Her Books were translated into English by several different translators and published as a set by A.L. Fowle, Publisher, of New York in 1905. This Set was not published with Volume Numbers for each Book. Each Book contains 400-650 pages of text and three to five illustrations.There are 20 Volumes in the complete set. The book is in excellent condition. The pages are white, of high quality, and the book smells pleasant. One page has a small easily overlooked punch-rip. Binding is good. Hardcover is green with black trim and gold embossed author and title only on the spine.The Dust Jacket is ripped and taped and has some insect damage and torn corners.What makes this second 1933 edition book especially interesting, is that it is signed, small and unpretentious, in fine black ink by the author.The book is written in Czechoslovakian.The story is a Czechoslovakian version of "Robinhood" of sorts, a blend of fact and magical fiction of the mythical or legendary Nikola Suhaj, (depending on who you believe).The story takes place in Ruthenia, mostly after, but also during the First World War. (Robert Gilmour) LeTourneau (1888-1969) was an inventor and manufacturer of earthmoving machinery, holding almost 300 patents. He was a frequent speaker on Christian subjects. He founded LeTourneau University, a Christian college in Longview, Texas. LeTourneau's signature on the fep of this book, is annotated, by him, with a reference to Matthew 6.33.
