New York: The William T. Comstock Company, 1914. First Edition. Very good.. First book illustrated by Rockwell Kent in a beautiful publisher's binding also designed by the artist. Uncommon. 174pp. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Publisher's blue cloth decorated and lettered in gilt and red to front, gilt lettering at spine. Color frontispiece and title page, profusely illustrated in partial-page, black-line woodcuts throughout. Spine cloth, lettering faded. Front illustration shelf rubbed, areas of red ink loss, gilt dulled. Line of cloth wear at front spine hinge, corners rounded, worn, edges also worn. Binding sound, interior unmarked. No dust jacket.
