Faber & Faber, London, 1951. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good/Good. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. In which Archie, the cockroach, details the life of the cat Mehitabel in humorous poems (without punctuation because he is forced to use his head to butt the keys of the typewriter one at a time, and he is not able to reach the shift keys of the machine). Softening and a little rubbing of the backstrip edges; rubbing of the lower book corners and a little bumping of the top book corners. Light tanning and foxing of the text block edges; with age toning of the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages with foxing also present. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Sunning to the dustwrapper, most noticeable to the backstrip and rear panel. Foxing to the dustwrapper and to the verso. Owner's name on first page. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
