1954. Inscribed by Stryker to A Notable Atlanta Lawyer and Businessman Stryker, Lloyd Paul [1885-1955]. [Sibley (1886-1986)]. The Art of Advocacy: A Plea for the Renaissance of the Trial Lawyer. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1954. xiii, 306 pp. Original cloth, titles to front board and spine. Light shelfwear, some fading to spine. Author inscription to front free endpaper. $250. * First edition. Dated March 25, 1954, the inscription reads: "To/ John Sibley Esq./ from an old and admiring friend,/ Lloyd Paul Stryker." Stryker was probably the finest defense lawyer of his day. Sibley, a notable Atlanta lawyer and businessman, is remembered today as the chair of the Sibley Commission, which oversaw desegregation in the Atlanta School system.
