Bound in stiff illustrated paper covers and published on the occasion of the exhibition held in a number of cities in the early 1990s. 83 illustrations, 16 in color. Gloria Fraser Gifford is one of the leading art historians specializing in the art of the retablo. This along with her other monumental book, "Mexican Folk Retablos" from the University of New Mexico Press are two of the most important titles on this subject..
