Philadelphia: Gebbie and Barrie, 1880. hardcover. near fine. 2 volumes, 60 plates, with tissue guards + many wood engravings throughout the text and many additional full page wood cut engravings. Slim folio, all edges gilt. Illustrations are by Charles Baugniet, W.A. Bouguereau, G.R.C. Boulanger, Alex Cabanel, J.L. Gerome, Hugues Merle, and many others. Engravings are by Goupil & Co. Bound in full pebbled dark brown leather with decoratively gilt title on spine and front cover. 187 pages plus plates. Occasional light scattered foxing on the versos, not effecting the plates. Philadelphia: Gebbie and Barrie, Philadelphia, 1880. A beautiful set with light rubbing ot the extremes.<br/> <br/>
