Large format paperback. 120 pages of text, followed by a suite of 91 pages containing black and white photographs. Foreword by S. Dillon Ripley. Introductory essay on the art of Anatolia ca. 1200 B.C. by Machteld Mellink; essay on the early Iron Age, Classical and Roman Empire by Rodney S. Young essays on the Byzantine period and and the Islamic period by Paul A. Underwood and Richard Ettinghausen respectively. Short bibliographies at the end of each chapter. First edition. Card cover worn with wear to top of spine strip and spotting and abrasions to rear cover. Book is tight, internally clean and unmarked. No previous ownership marks. Fair to good copy. .
