Description:
London: The Folio Society NONE [NONE] 2009-2010. (hardcover) xiv, 279; xvi, 321; xiv, 336pp. Fine. 4to. Three volume set, sold as such. The Arthur Trilogy takes a fresh look at the legends of King Arthur and explores a medieval lad's (Arthur de Caldecott) development from page to squire, and ultimately to knight, as well as the issues of his future betrothal and his inheritance. He has, in his possession, the 'Seeing Stone', which allows him to observe the nearly identical early life of King Arthur from several hundred years earlier. Each volume quarter bound, blue cloth over illustrated paper boards and silver titles stamped to spines. Housed in sturdy, plain blue slipcases. The Seeing Stone won the Guardian Prize (2001) and the trilogy was awarded other recognitions. Everything fine. Beautiful set..
