Doubleday & Company, Garden City, NY, 1953. 300th Anniversary of Arundel. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good+ Condition/Good+. Illustrator: N.C. Wyeth (dust jacket painting). Book Signed by Author. Glossy special title page for the 300th Anniversary of Arundel bound in in front of the regular title page. Signed by the author; features a facsimile of his bookplate. Stated "Latest American Edition, May 1953." Note: I have a large selection of Kenneth Roberts books and related materials. Contact me if you are looking for something in particular. Size: 7.5"-8" - Small Octavo (Sm. 8vo). Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Hardcover bound in navy blue cloth over boards with embossed diamond and star pattern, bright gilt eagle decoration on front cover and bright gilt title on spine. Corners are sharp with slight wear to the tips. Light self wear to the head and foot of the spine. Unclipped ($4.00) dust jacket. The color of Wyeth's painting on the front panel is bright, with surface wear at the fold, but the part on the spine has sun-faded to blue. Large chip at the top right corner with no loss of text. Another across much of the bottom of the panel affecting by author information. Another large chip at the head of the spine, leaving only ARUN from the title, and one at the foot of the spine leaving only DOUBLE from the publisher name. The fold between the spine and front panel was split and top and bottom and has been repaired with archival paper tape. A small tear at the bottom edge of the rear panel was also repaired. The jacket is now protected by a clear archival Brodart sleeve. The front flap is number 1264-38; the rear flap 195-47. Blurb for "I Wanted to Write" on the rear panel. The page edges are clean; the side edges are deckled (rough cut). Illustrator: N.C. Wyeth (dust jacket painting). Quantity Available: 1.
