About This Item

London: Oxford University Press, 1961. First edition of the English translation, 1961. Well illustrated throughout from photographs in black and white, some color. Blue cloth, 160 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, decorative name stamp on title page, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and is good with some chipping near the spine ends, other edgewear and tiny chips, a few very short closed tears, fairly little paper loss. This book is from a collection of alpine and mountaineering books owned by Jeffery and Beverly Parrette who traveled the world climbing challenging peaks and often presented the books to one another as gifts.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
