SIGNED by HILLARY & HUNT & LOWE with loose postcard signed by Tenzing & by the photographer of the image on the card, Gerhard Lenser. Hillary signed the short title page. Hunt and Lowe signed the title page. The postcard commemorates the first day of issue of the stamps celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest. It is hand signed by Tenzing and by Gerhard Lenser. Lenser was active on several expeditions to the Himalaya, the most notable being the one where he made the first ascent of Pumori, a striking peak next to Mt Everest. The postcard is in fine condition. The glossy image side of the postcard shows monks at the Thami Monastery. Lenser took the photo. Thami Monastery is located at 14,500 feet in the Khumbu region of Mt Everest. BOOK CONDITION: nice condition with small wrinkle at edge of cover (see photo), no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean covers, no rubbing, tight binding, no foxing, bright pages. DUST WRAPPER CONDITION: uncommon bright spine with no fading or darkening (usual for this jacket), wrinkle upper rear edge, minor edge wear, complete. The book measures 227mm tall x 144mm, and has 300 pages, 79 photos (8 colour), 4 maps, sketches, 9 appendices, glossary, index. PHOTOS ARE OF ACTUAL BOOK & CARD BEING OFFERED.
