(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), 4 1/2 x 7 inches tall white buckram cloth hardcover, no dust jacket, full color artwork to front cover, gilt lettering to front cover and spine, frontispiece and nine full-page interior illustrations in full color, 146 pp. Slight to moderate soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers. Tiny ink stain to top edge of rear pastedown and last three pages. A few pages (mainly the prelims) with slight marginal foxing or staining. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked. ~SP30~ [1.0P] Robert Burns (1759-1796), also known as Rabbie Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire, Ploughman Poet and various other names and epithets, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is also in English and a light Scots dialect, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. Burns was born two miles south of Ayr, in Alloway, Scotland.
