Circa 1880, 4to, 270 x 230 mm, 10½ x 9 mm, green cloth, illustrated gilt and black, lettered gilt upper cover and spine, 24 pages of large print text with small decorative motifs. 24 very attractive colour plates designed by M. Tilsley. Each plate is divided in 2 parts vertically within gilt border, the larger section (2/3) is printed on gilt ground. Plates and text pages printed 1 side only. Contains Little Dame Crump; Hush-a-Bye Baby; Childhood's Delight; and Tottie's Nursery Rhymes. Expertly recased with matching cloth spine, original backstrip laid down, corners slightly worn, tiny chip to cloth at top edge of upper board, a few marks to cloth on lower board. Tiny tear to margin of 1st plate, repaired, rear endpaper slightly frayed at edges. A very good plus copy. Osborne II,689.
