About This Item
Olivet, Illinois: The Students of Olivet College, 1926. Book. Good. Hardcover. Dark green leatherette and silver, with embossed design and lettering to the front cover. Some edge wear and bumping to corners. Foxing to the first few and last pages. Binding square and tight. No writing in the yearbook, except for the student/owner's name: Bernalice Peake. That surname is found a few more times in the student listings and on the faculty (husband & wife). Numerous ads in the back, mostly from Danville, Illinois, with some from Olivet, Georgetown, Ridgefarm and a few other places. Olivet College was founded in 1907 in Georgetown, Illinois and relocated to Olivet, Illinois a year later. A fire destroyed the campus in 1939 and the college moved to its present location in Bourbonnais. This year book was only the thirteenth volume published and represents an historical document from the old campus location and early days of the university..
