Sydney: Doubleday. 1986. Facsimile edition. Two volumes, original pictorial boards, large octavo. Volume I: pp. lx, 320, Index, Volume II: pp. xii, 363, Index; b/w frontis both vols., b/w plates and ills., folded maps. Previous owner's signature and stamp both volumes, some rubbing to edges and corners otherwise clean. Very good condition. In 1872 Ernest Giles set out to explore Central Australia and was subsequently inspired to cross Australia from east to west in 1875 and 1876. Complete two volume facsimile edition of Giles's travels across Australia, first published in 1889. Facsimile Edition. Boards.
