About This Item

Ure Smith, Sydney, 1979. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. Introduction by authors and index. Illustrated end pages showing a early church. Ochre coloured boards with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The text is illustrated with colour photographs of Australian churches. Photographic dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Colour photographs of authors to the rear fold over panel. As the author makes it clear in his authoritative and eminently readable text, Australian churches and their adjoining graveyards are the repositories of much of the nation's history and aspirations. Indeed, they have always played a vital part in the spiritual direction the country has taken since the days of the First Settlement at Sydney Cove – dust jacket blurb. Rubbing to the top book corners and back strip edges along with the lower book edge. A little age toning of the text block edges. Previous owners name has been placed to the top edge of the front paste-down – which has been blackened by a black coloured marker. Previous owners details to the top left hand corner of the verso of the free front end page; and, other details have been removed using "White out". Some creasing to the top dustwrapper edge with rubbing of the panels. Fading of the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 128 pages, indexed. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
