The book covers the role of Austro-Hungarian cruisers in a war which would be the Empire's last, with meticulous accounts of the ships' armament, crew, armor, and the role they played in the Great War. These ships were a crucial part of Austro-Hungarian raids on Italian cities on the western coast of the Adraiticand were heavily involved in the Battle of the Ottranto Straits, the largest surface action in the Adriatic during WWI.
