Octavo (18.5cm.); later (20th c.) calf-backed marbled boards, red gilt spine label, new endpapers; [8],59,[4]pp.; [A]4 B-E8; variant with headpiece on B1 featuring a head (no priority). Torn title page expertly repaired and laid down, leaves quite closely trimmed at extremities though not quite touching text, textblock a bit soiled, else a Very Good copy in a not uattractive binding. An early play by Fielding, and his first commercial success, the plot based upon the Theatre Royal's rejection of his earlier attempts at playwriting. ESTC T89855; NCBEL II, p. 927.
