[Np: The Photographer, ca. 1963].. Original glossy double-weight gelatin silver print from negative, 14 x 11" (inclusive of margins, image size 12.5 x 10 5/8"). Captioned in pencil on verso. About fine. An original print of one of the sequence of superb photographs taken by Yousuf Karsh on location in South Africa during the filming of the 1964 Diamond Films production, ZULU, directed by Cy Endfield. Karsh's invitation to join the production and photograph the cast and locale resulted in a sequence of photographs of a very high order. The present image is a fine character portrait of South African film actor, Gert van den Berg, in his role as Adendorff. The image is identified as "No. 4-12" in the series, and the subject is misidentified in the pencil caption as "Kurt Van Den Boch." Although this project is not as widely known as Karsh's formal portraiture, examples of the resulting images have featured prominently in both museum and print retrospectives of his career.

This listing is for a lovely 8x10 color photo of Mark Hamill in his role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. It is beautifully and boldly signed by Mark without any inscription in crisp blue marker and his signature has been professionally authenticated by PSA/DNA. Very good. It was not until the following January that she addressed the Writer's Circle of the Institute of Journalists, the meeting chaired by Wilhelmina Stitch who afterwards hosted a dinner at Gatti's in her honour at which the menu consisted of dishes described in "Adam's Breed".

With all half-titles and general titles (these with vignette illustration) and individual titles to all 104-plays within, these also with vignette illustrations; other vignette illustrations within the text. Thirteen volumes 12 mo (5 x 3 inches), contemporary grained burgundy calf, double gilt rules to sides with floral corner ornaments, all edges gilt. Spines gilt lettered direct with the title of each play within. Headbands, joints, and corners rubbed but overall a very pleasing set; good, strong and attractive. Rare as a complete set and even more so in an attractive contemporary binding.

Thomas Shadwell was a famous 17th-century English poet who wrote a number of plays and poems, many of which have been set to a number of songs. One of Shadwell's earliest plays was 'The Royal Shepherdess' which was an adaption of John Fountain's 'Rewards of Virtue'. According to Lowndes, Shadwell altered the play and simply published under a new title in 1669.
