Baal

First Hardcover edition of Robert McCammon's first book, and for a long time the only hardcover edition issued until the Sub Press edition. Very difficult to find! Baal by Robert R. McCammon (author of Swan Song) Hardcover First Hardcover Edition Firecrest: Chivers Press UK 1985 (true first was a paperback original issued from Avon US and Sphere UK, 1979) Fine in Fine Dust Jacket. A near-perfect copy save just a hint of crimping to the bottom edge of the text block, maybe affecting three leaves at most, and the typical toning to the pages, common with UK editions. NOTE on edition: Baal was Robert McCammon's first published book, published as a paperback original in 1979 by Avon Books US and Sphere UK. Subsequently, most of McCammon's books were released as paperback originals by Pocket Books with a few titles published in hardcover by Kinnell UK. Firecrest: Chivers Press UK published Baal in hardcover in 1985 which was the only hardcover trade edition of this book in English for over 35 years until Subterranean Press released a signed-limited in 2011. For some reason, I still like the cover image on the UK edition better than that of the later Sub Press edition. NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.
