Highgate, London - Privately Printed, 1923 Book. Fine. Hardcover. First edition.. A first edition pamphlet of Woodward's Christmas Carols. Hand-numbered, 122 of 200 copies. George Ratcliffe Woodward (27 December 1848 3 March 1934) was an Anglican priest who wrote mostly religious verse, both original and translated from ancient authors. The best-known of his works is perhaps Ding Dong Merrily on High. This pamphlet includes Far and Wide all the Earth, Our Lady Sat Within Her Bower and Child in the Manger, amongst others. Condition: In a card binding. Externally, very smart. Internally, firmly bound, bright and clean. Overall: FINE.

In overall very good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - paper wraps rubbed to edges; buff printed boards clean and crisp. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears almost unread, no annotations or inscriptions; toning to rough-trimmed page-ends - the top edge of nearly all pages remains uncut - but text bright and clear throughout.
