EX-Library with library stamp on title page, library bookplate on front free end-page, library card pocket on rear free end-page, library sticker pulled from spine leaving white patch (see photo), no other library marks. The plates are clean, not damaged, and do not have any library markings or stamps. Generally a clean, sound example of the book. The end-pages are the original coated green paper. The original tissue guards are present and browned as usual. The binding is sound and not loose or cracked. Unpaginated, but 100 beautiful full-page black and white plates. This copy is signed by Laughlin and a friend. This is a very good cloth copy, with some foxing mainly to the page-edges (visible when book is closed), and also to endpapers. Plates clean. Slight wrinkling to the bottom portion of the pages. The dust jacket is 95% there, missing a small fragment from the top of the spine, and a smaller chip out of the top right corner of the front panel (it just cuts off the corner of the "M" in Mississippi), also a few folds and creases on the edges. Still, a beautiful book, in pretty good shape, and quite rare signed. 13" high X 10" wide. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.. 1915. Limp suede album (measuring 21 cm x 14.5 cm) with burned floral design reading "PHOTOS" on front cover. Covers laced at the spine with a leather thong. Fifty-five 3.5" x 2.5" sepia-tone photographs pasted in. Included at the rear are three real photo postcards (one loose), and a small clipping from an advertisement. Handwritten label on front pastedown states: "My Trip to Lake Tahoe with Mr. & Mrs. Pauline Seigfried. July 2, 1915. Dorothy Federspiel." Minimal wear. One finds records of a Dorothea Federspiel living in California during this time frame. She would have been fourteen at the time of this trip. This Dorothea Federspiel married a Martin Anderson and is buried in Napa Valley. The first ten photos have handwritten captions in the bottom margins; the remainder are unidentified. Over half the shots feature people, while the others are scenic.
