The head & tail of the spine are darkened & slightly chipped. The dust jacket is soiled & chipped with its flaps partially detached & pieces out of the head & tail of the spine, affecting the titling. The top edges of the panels are darkened. v & 159 pages. 14 black-and-white photographic illustrations. The top page corners in the rear half of the book are lightly bumped & 2 corners are creased. The upper halves of the pages are lightly rippled. There is a pencil marking in the margin of 1 page. Good only. <p>First edition.<p>From the library of American literary agent Harold Ober with his address label mounted on the front endpaper. The initials "JB" are penciled on the label. Ober [1881-1959] worked for the Paul R. Reynolds Literary Agency where he represented Jack London and H. G. Wells. In 1929, he opened his own agency, Harold Ober Associates, representing such authors as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Agatha Christie, William Faulkner, Pearl Buck and J. D. Salinger.
