Light foxing and browning. In good condition. Small contemporary ink signature on title page. Stamp of Livraria Brandão, Salvador, Bahia on front free endleaf recto. [[5]-204 pp., (2 ll.). *** FIRST and ONLY EDITION. Short pieces on contemporary events and people, centering on the world of crime and "melandragem" with a glossary of terms on pp. 281-94, because "O malandro nacional fala uma linguagem estranha." The malandro is a Brazilian anti-hero, a scoundrel who thrives on idleness, fast living, and petty crime.
