A small wrinkle to the rear pastedown and preceeding few leaves, else an amazingly bright and crisp copy, practically as new. Small oval bookplate to front pastedown. Translated from the German of Von Schmid, first edition thus. 16mo, 128p. Color frontispiece in the Kronheim style. Bound in the publisher's embossed green cloth, the upper cover with blind stamped title within a gilt decorative device, a.e.g. Housed in a lovely full slipcase of quarter maroon morocco, the spine titled in gilt with double-ruled panels and single-ruled bands. Gumuchian 5008, the catalogue entry includes the separate title "Ruth Elmer".
This volume corresponds precisely to the description in the Gumuchian entry and was purchased in a multi-volume lot at Christies' New York December 12, 2006 - lot 44. The similar volumes in the lot were also housed in the matching specially commissioned slipcases.
