New York.: E. T. Paull.. 1915.. Sheet music 14 x 10.5 inches; 8 pp including covers. Several very short tears to cover repaired on verso with archival tape; only one tear touches the border of the image (bottom margin). Miniscule paper loss at bottom margin. Front and rear cover separated at spine. Lithographed image on cover in very good condition. An astonishing color lithographed cover by A. Hoen & Co. depicting the disjunction between 19th century and 20th century warfare. On the ground is an horrific battle with horse-drawn artillery centrally featured. In the background are steel-clad fortifications discharging cannons, while in the air a biplane and dirigible are firing at troops on the ground. Framing the image of mayhem are the emblems of France Germany Belgium, Austria-Hungary, Japan, Turkey, Great Britain and Russia... A notice in the margin states "Companion Piece to the Celebrated Napoleon's Last Charge Descriptive March." An exceptional piece of military/musical ephemera in very good condition with issues noted. .
