Jacket edges lightly bumped with half-inch tear along top edge of front jacket panel. Companion volume: No jacket. Light stain on front board, light scratch on rear board. 1976 Large Hardcover. Two volume set. 36 colorful battle scenes from the Kurz & Allison collections. Based on the first sketches of Civil War artist Louis Kurz, considered one of the first war correspondents, this book contains reproductions of 36 chromolithographs of civil war battles from 1861 to 1865. The original prints were created using ten inks with each ink requiring a 22 x 28 inch Baviarian stone etched with acid.
