Boston/NY: Wells and Lilly/Eastern, Kirk, 1814. Hardcover. Good +. 4 1/2 x 7 in. vol 1 - 288 pgs. Vol 2 - 278 pgs, plus adverts. Half brown calf with marbled aper boards and red leather label on spine with gilt lettering. Condition of books is GOOD+ ; corners quite worn and covers quite rubbed, but clean overall with no staining. Spines also quite worn. Vol 1 has a cracked and weakened front hinge that yet remains in place. Vol 2 has a quite torn but extant and readable label on spine. Both have the name of PO - Elizabeth Fisher in pencil on ffep, in a contemporary hand (I began life as an antiques dealer, a miserable trade, but one learns a few things) Text overall very clean with some mild to moderate foxing, randomly scattered throughout pgs. An early US edition of this classic. Fiction. RGR.
