First printing. 234pp., laid in are two signed notes: one is a specially made pictorial card printed below illustration ...William Beebe Wishes You A Happy New Year with a signed note on the reverse side. The second a pictorial note card with Bebee's note concerning his upcoming trips to Trinidad, the West Indies and other places signed and within postmarked envelope. Beebe is regarded as one of the founders of the field of ecology as well as one of the early 20th century's major advocates of conservation. He is also known for his deep dives in the Bathysphere; his monograph on pheasants, and numerous other books on natural history. Bound in green cloth titled over gilt, spine lettering gilt, some spots of rubbing and one small teardrop stain. A very good copy.
