A most attractive publication presenting the hot springs resort of Beppu in the most cosmopolitan terms: the introduction notes that "the city of Beppu is among the best known places of this country which no globe-trotters can afford to neglect" while the Mayor extends the hope that "this booklet will be to visitors to this place what Baedeker is to globe-trotters." The back cover repeats the exhortation of the title, here quoted as "See Beppu, ahd then die." .
