About This Item

New York: Rizzoli, 2008. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Lautner, John. What has become a highly collectible book on the life and work of the legendary architect, John Lautner (1911-1994) who was known for his mid-century architecture that tested the boundaries of curves and reinforced concrete. Lautner was one of the few architects who studied with Frank Lloyd Wright that created their own, distinctive style, separate from Wright's influence. First Printing. 234 pp. 4to. Clean, crisp copy with dust jacket in mylar cover. Fascinating design of the book is that the front cover board has a very slightly raised embossed sketch by Lautner of one of his most iconic houses, the Chemoshphere. Thin line dimple across the front board from a binding anomaly, same to rear. Does not impact the book in any way.
