Book #8 in the girls' series of 26 books orig. published 1934-1955 featuring the adventurous Beverly Gray, starting when she was a college student & following her through her career as a reporter. Orig. published in 1938, this is a slightly later printing of the First Edition, listing to self in front matter & to BG#11 in rear (along with 2 other pages of children's series titles). Thicker hardcover has green cloth-covered boards with darker lettering to front & spine, in 243 pages with glossy frontispiece. Condition is Good+: very clean, pages creamy white with very light tanning to edges. Binding secure, hinges intact. Old gift inscription dated 1943 on ffep, else unmarked. Moderate rubbing to extremities, light soil, bumping to all corners & both ends of spine. No DJ.
