Originally published in 1906, this Glyn novel was reprinted in 1922 to promote the silent film starring Rudolph Valentino and Gloria Swanson, photographs of whom are used as illustrations. There is also a frontis photo of Valentino and Elinor Glyn. A young, penniless aristocrat, Theodora (Gloria Swanson), marries a self-made millionaire grocer to help her family recover economically. But sure enough, she meets a playboy aristocrat (Rudolph Valentino) and falls for him. Which will win? Honor and duty? Or love? The book is in Very Good+ condition, with red covers and black titles on the front panel and spine. The spine has slight fading and there is only light edge wear. The binding is tight and secure, and the text pages are clean and bright. The book measures 5 1/4 by 7 1/2 inches and includes 327 pages, with ads in the rear. . Hard Cover. Very Good+/No Dust Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
