First Edition (2003), so stated. First Printing indicated by a complete numerical sequence. Very Near Fine in Very Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. The Book shows a small, faint smudge at top edge rear panel; the binding is ever so slightly cocked off square; else flawless; the binding is secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome, very nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a couple of minor, unobtrusive imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Still possesses that pleasant 'new book' fragrance. Very close to "As New". The DJ shows light sunning to the top quarter of the backstrip; else flawless; the price is unclipped; mylar-protected. Very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (8.6 x 5.75 x 1 inches). xv, 204 pages. Language: English. Weight: 15.9 ounces. Hardback with DJ. Wes "Scoop" Nisker, a self-professed Buddhist traces the spiritual history of a generation. He cover the beatniks, hippies, drugs, the importance of music, the disillusionment with the sixties, the turn towards introspection and fascination with eastern philosophies. This is a fine documentation of a unique generation that grew up during a time of unprecedented prosperity and had trouble figuring out what to do with it. The author is not only a witness to this process but is also a participant and shares many personal stories. As a former disk jockey from the once very progressive San Francisco KSAN radio station, he met and interacted with key players, like Allen Watts, who influenced this generation. He is also honest enough to write about his own doubts, misgivings and personal confusion, which is symbolic of his generation. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY AUTHOR.
