Pp. 160(last blank), coloured frontispiece and 5 plates, black & white title page vignette; cr. 8vo; red boards, lettered and decorated in black, tiny tape marks near top fore-corners, the fore-corners also faintly bruised; price-clipped dust wrapper, slightly soiled, edges rubbed and split, with a couple of tiny chips and several tape repairs on reverse; edges of leaves lightly foxed; Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1955. Second impression. *Biggles adventure 40 according to the Hodder & Stoughton numbering system on the dust wrapper (which did not include some of the earlier titles in the series). First published in 1954.
