In this book Biggles, Algy and Ginger, answering a letter from an old friend, fly north to Fort Beaver in Canada. Where they find Wilks (formerly Captain Wilkinson of 187 Squadron) has started up a small airline business, which has run into trouble due to a man named Jake McBain and his cronies. What with a spot of murder, sabotage and various dubious goings-on, it takes Biggles and his friends all their ingenuity to make things right. First published in 1939.   Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Some marks and rubs to the book panels. Tanning of the textblock edges and lighter tanning of the pages. Some handling marks to the end pages. The remnants of the dustwrapper are present – including the backstrip, rear panel and rear fold over panel. Of what remains of the dustwrapper there is chipping and some tears to the top edge and the lower back strip edge is chipped and has a small piece missing – please see photograph.
