B/w illustrations. 191 Pages. A story of Biggles and the Air Police. A few tiny dents at cover edges and a few light marks to covers. A tiny tear to edge of front fly-leaf. Minor foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is price-cut to top of front flap, is edge rubbed with a couple of small tears and rear panel is slightly grubby. There is a small patch of surface paper damage to front panel of wrapper.

Wrapper has top corner of front flap cut off; edge-creasing with a few chips and nicks; a few marks to rear panel.

A fine copy in an attractive VG+ D/W with very slight soiling to the yellow portion of the spine. The price 8s 6d net shows to the inside flap without any later price label over the top. Illustrated by Studio Stead. Shows well. Biggles adventure # 71. A bibliographical note: this is the first time that we have encountered pink boards for this title which may, perhaps, be a variant of the usual red. Photographs/scans available upon request.

The dust wrapper has some minor wear at the spine tips, handling marks to the rear panel, some slight creases throughout and has not been price clipped. There is a light spot of soiling to the top of the rear panel. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are mostly clean throughout. There are no inscriptions. Overall, this is a very good (or better) copy. Biggles and Erich Von Stalhein, combine to spoil the plans of Reinhardt, ex-Gestapo official who is keeping their old friend prisoner in a mysterious Bohemian castle.

Limited to 300 numbered copies, of which this is no.26, with a numbered insert signed by the publisher and illustrator. Originally published in hardback in 1968, this is one of the harder-to-find Biggles titles, and is here reprinted in hardback for the first time. The new dustwrapper is by Andrew Skilleter, who has also drawn a b/w frontispiece. Skilleter has also added an ORIGINAL colour drawing of 3 of the main characters to the ffep. A Mint unread copy in Mint d/w.

Limited to 300 numbered copies, this is copy # 50. SIGNED on the title page by publisher and artist. Signed by Illustrator and Publisher. Copy # 50 is a "Biggles Looks Back Artwork Special" being one of only 50 copies containing an original pencil drawing by Andrew Skilleter directly onto the half-title page and numbered, this book contains drawing # 39. A Certificate to that effect is laid inside. It is my understanding that some of these drawings were done in pencil whereas others were done in full colour.
