About This Item
Bigg Junction, OR: Mother Nature, 2022. No Binding. As New. Biggs Junction, Oregon: Biggs Jasper Large Specimen Rough, 5.10 lbs (2.55 kg). Average dimensions 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 3", two opposing sides sawn, the four other sides are split-face. See all images. Biggs Jasper, first found in Biggs Junction in 1960, is a uniquely patterned and colored form of the mineral jasper. It was formed from volcanic ash which underwent sequential compressions, and has a complex geomorphology. A scarce opaque gem quality stone, Biggs Jasper is often cut and polished as one form of Picture Jasper (see item "Rivendell elsewhere here). Because of its size and appearance, we recommend it for display specimen purposes, but it can also be used and rough for cutting and fabrication of any of the various jewelry applications for the this gemstone, as well as just smaller display samples. Please review all images. - LMinSh.
