About This Item

Michael Joseph, 1975. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. An exceptionally rare SIGNED copy of the sequel to his first novel, Billy Liar. Keith Waterhouse was one of the UK's most prolific comedy-writers, journalists, novelists and screenwriters of the 60's through to the 90's and beyond. Amongst his screenwriting credits are Whistle Down the Wind and the Hitchcock movie Torn Curtain With his writing partner Willis Hall he was responsible for the television series The Frost Report, That Was The Week That Was, Worzel Gummidge and many others. His novel Billy Liar brought him international fame follwing the John Schlessinger movie. Signed copies of his works are remarkably scarce. A VG copy of this book, well-read with just minor bumping and slight rubbing to the corners and spine tips. The book is fairly straight and tight with a couple of small stains to the cloth at the rear board. The dustjacket is unclipped but has a split to the top corner of the lower panel with minor loss and is tanned, particularly to the rear panel. Otherwise VG. SIGNED at the title page (for the seller in person) and scarce thus.
