London: Selwyn & Blount. Hardcover. 1928. 1st Edition. 12mo 184pp . Very Good in Good DJ. Nice association copy inscribed by the author to Archibald Henderson [ Henderson (June 17, 1877-December 1963) was an American professor of mathematics and writer, largely on the drama. He was a professor at the Univ. of North Carolina] Laid in is a typed letter from the author to Mr. Henderson dated 1929, still in the stamped and addressed envelope. The author tells Henderson that her publisher has gone bankrupt and that she finds herself with nearly the whole edition on her hands, unsold, unadvertised, and consequently unknown. She discusses some of her ideas about the blue bird in the Maeterlink plays. Also laid in is a small printed sheet titled: Private: Not for advertisement or quotation. Copy of a letter received by the author of ' The Bird That is Blue' from the author of 'The Blue Bird'. It then gives the text in French of Maeterlinck's letter to the author . Green cloth binding slightly soiled and worn. Small waterstain near spine on front cover. DJ lightly chipped with water stains on spine and front cover . The author has crossed through the name of the publisher, Selwyn & Blount, on the title page and written below: Simpkin Marshall Ltd, Stationers' Hall Court, London, E.6.4. She has done the same on the Dust Jacket front panel. Extremely scarce title .
