Copyright 1883, by the Trustees of the Presbyterian Board of Publication, 1334 Chestnut Street. Westcott & Thomson Stereotypers and Electrotypers, Phil. 5 x 7 inches. 415 pages including Index. Blue cloth with elaborate, ornate, full cover design blindstamped on back; repeated in black on front. Spine embellished with black and gilt designs, and a bit faded with light rubbing to edges and ends. Corner tips very lightly rubbed. Yellow endpapers and pastedowns. Neat "";Robert L Hubbard from his Mother May 25th 1884""; lightly penciled on front endpaper. Almost all 49 finely detailed b&w illustrations are of different birds in their habitat; some full-page, most 1/2 or 1/4 page.
