New York: Rinehart & Company, 1957. Stated second printing, 1957. Personalized insription dated 1958 signed by Sarton on the front free endpaper. Yellow hardcover with dustjacket. Good condition with edge rubbing, good hinges, sound text block, age-browned but clean pages, no other names or markings. The mylar protected dustjacket states Second Printing and is not priceclipped [3.75], generally good condition with surface chip to the spine, edgewear, age yellowing to the white background of the rear panel, some light brown spotting, little paper loss.. From the collection of a History professor who became friends with Sarton when they first met at Depauw University in the mid 1950s.. Inscribed by the Author. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
