Pages are clean and unmarked, age toning. Wartime printing notice on title page, dating the printing to 1943 - 1945. Grosset & Dunlap hard cover with dust jacket, 1929 edition but 1943 - 1945 printing, 347 pages. 12mo (5"" x 7.5"") Originally published by Scribners in 1928, this is a reprint edition. Filmed in 1930 with Basil Rathbone. This is the fourth Philo Vance mystery, preceded by The Greene Murder Case, and followed by The Scarab Murder Case.
