About This Item
Sampson Low, London, No date. Edition Unstated. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good/No Dust Jacket. Dark pink cloth covered boards with white coloured embossed titles to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Blue coloured tint to the top text block edge. First published in 1920, this is a story of romance, revenge, treasure and galley slavery. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners and rubbing to the top and bottom book edges. The cloth has become somewhat grubby and there is fading to the back strip. Browning and scattered foxing to the text block edges with lighter browning of the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and there is quite heavy browning of the first few and last few pages of the book. On looking at the front text edge it appears that the pages have come in contact with moisture as the there is a slight ripple effect. Slight cocking of the spine. Fading of the back strip. Previous owner's X libris plate pasted to the front paste-down. No easily found publishing date,  but probably from the late 30s early 1940s. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
