An account of the 1967 mayoral race in Cleveland wherein the victor became the first African-American mayor of a major American city. A few B&W photos on text stock. Book very good plus with little wear and previous owner's signature to second leaf. DJ also very good with edgewear at spine. Related ephemera included: copy of a cover story from the NY Times (11/05/67) comparing the Cleveland election with Boston's mayoral race in which color was also an issue with the candidacy of Louise Day Hicks. 250 pp..
