New York: New Collectors' Group, 1947. First edition, limited. Hardcover. Hannes Bok. 115pp. Quarto [29 cm] Black cloth covered boards with a large gilt stamped title on the front cover. Very good condition. The edges of the covers are rubbed and bumped. The underlying boards are just beginning to peak through at the bottom corner of the front cover. The gilt stamped title on the front cover is heavily rubbed. Cancel copyright sticker affixed to the verso of the title page. The pages are mildly browned. No paper dust jacket. Number 667 of 1000 copies. L. W. Currey states that this fantasy by Merritt was completed by Hannes Bok. State A. Illustrated by Hannes Bok. He painted close to 150 covers for numerous science fiction, fantasy, and detective fiction magazines, as well as contributing hundreds of black and white interior illustrations.
