Paris: Chez Pierre Menier, 1609. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo [3" x 4.5"]. Later period red calf binding framed with gilt. Inner edges dentelle A.e.g. Marbled endpapers. [80] leaves. Collation: A - K8. Bookplate of De Guinzbourg on front pastedown endpaper. Light wear and rubbing to spine ends and corners. Small stain on front board. Some scuffing to boards. Closed tear to head of title page previously repaired. Name and publisher scratched on title page affecting text. Sporadic stains and light foxing. Pages trimmed, but not affecting text. Tight binding. Interior clean. Near fine. A nice collection of Italian proverbs translated into French in alphabetical order. Name given from Barbier as Giovanni Bellero.
