HARDBACK "EARLY EDITION," SHIPPED FROM THE UK* Revised.* Impression: 1st.* Date of Publication: 1946* Publisher: Tudor Publishing.* Binding and cover condition: Mid blue cloth, faded gilt title to spine and to face. Slight bumps & minor rubs to edges, corners & spine ends, GD+* Jacket condition: No dust wrapper.* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. VG* Illustrations: Numerous b/w photos within text throughout.* Pages: 280 pp. text. iv pp. index at rear.* Description: This is an early edition of the Tudor Publishing guide to antique collecting in the United States at the end of the second world war. It starts with a description of the allure and the importance of provenance and rarity in antique collecting and continues with guidance for the potential owner. Modern books on the same subject tend to either assume more knowledge than the reader possesses or to dumb the subject down to a moronic level. This extensive treatment of the subject is much more informative and entertaining even if it refers to an era which is past. The contents are still valuable to the reader.* A VERY GOOD text copy with NO MAJOR FAULTS reduced by slight ageing and shelf wear to GD+. No dust jacket.*
